At NJPW Declaration of Power on October 10th 2022 in Ryogoku, New Japan Pro Wrestling revealed its latest championship title.
That new championship is the NJPW WORLD TV Championship according to NJPW’s Twitter post.
Fightful provided further details of the championship and how it will be defended, explaining that:
“Title matches will be contested with a 15-minute time limit. The focus will be on “high-paced matches” and “young talent”.
“The tournament to crown the first-ever NJPW WORLD TV Champion begins this weekend and will conclude at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.”
Whilst no details as to who will be taking part in the tournament have yet been revealed, New Japan’s much respected Young Lions system of wrestlers potentially feature heavily.
The championship joins a veritable treasure chest of gold for New Japan, standing alongside ten other titles.
More details on this news story as they emerge.
