Kurt Angle has named three TNA/IMPACT wrestlers who he believes should have been given an opportunity in WWE.
Kurt Angle made his TNA debut on October 19 2006, after being granted his release from WWE in August of that year. He then remained in TNA for the next decade, before returning to WWE back in 2017.
During his time in TNA, Angle took on many of the best from the TNA roster at the time, including names like AJ Styles, Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe, all of who would end up having runs in WWE one day.
Speaking on an episode of his podcast The Kurt Angle Show, Angle discussed several wrestlers who in his opinion should have been given a main roster WWE run, but for one reason or another were never granted an opportunity.
He said:
“Oh, that’s hard to pick one. I will say Abyss, he did go to WWE as a producer, but he never wrestled for WWE. I thought he should have been up there.
“Also, I’d say Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. Those two guys were not only incredible singles wrestlers, they were incredible tag wrestlers.
“They had it all and those guys were incredible. I actually expected them to end up in WWE and sadly they didn’t, but they’re in AEW now, so that’s just about as good.”
Christopher Daniels worked for the WWF as an enhancement talent, and Frankie Kazarian had a small run on WWE Velocity in 2005.
Christopher Joseph “Abyss” Park appeared as a sidekick to AJ Styles in some backstage segments during the pandemic era of WWE.
