It was announced by NJPW’s Minoru Suzuki earlier this week that the legendary NJPW stable Suzuki-Gun will be disbanding.
During Wednesday’s (December 14) World Tag League/Jr. Tag League finals event, Suzuki revealed that the stable will disband at the end of 2022.
We now know when the group’s final match together will take place, and it is something of a civil war.
Stablemates are set to face off with each other at the Road to Tokyo Dome show from Korakuen Hall on December 23.
The match will pit Minoru Suzuki, Lance Archer, El Desperado and TAKA Michinoku against fellow members Zack Sabre Jr, Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and DOUKI.
The faction was formed in 2011, following Satoshi Kojima, NOSAWA, Michinoku & Taichi aligning with one another as Kojima-gun. Michinoku and Taichi later turned on Kojima to join Suzuki, forming Suzuki-gun.
Notable former members of Suzuki-gun include Davey Boy Smith Jr, Shelton Benjamin and Takashi Sugiura.
The group notably invaded Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2015, before returning back to NJPW with Kanemaru in 2017.
