A returning star is set for a NXT Women’s Championship qualifying match on the March 21 edition of WWE NXT.
On the March 14 episode of WWE NXT, Shawn Michaels announced a series of qualifying matches to determine the participants in a NXT Women’s Championship Ladder Match at the upcoming Stand & Deliver event on April 1.
This decision was made after NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez “collapsed” on the NXT Roadblock special following her bout against Meiko Satomura.
The collapse and ambulance angle was just a storyline, but it sounds like there might be a legitimate reason for Perez being written off the show, and that was the cover for it.
Zoey Stark and Gigi Dolin have qualified so far and will be joined by other competitors in the bout at Stand & Deliver. Now, we know one of the other qualifying bouts.
On Friday, WWE announced that Lyra Valkyria will face the returning Wendy Choo in a NXT Women’s Championship qualifying match on the March 21 episode. The announcement reads:
Another spot in the NXT Women’s Championship Ladder Match at NXT Stand & Deliver is up for grabs as Lyra Valkyria takes on Wendy Choo.
The electric Valkyria has wowed the NXT Universe with her unique blend of high-flying aerial assaults during her short time in NXT, but in her way is one of the craftiest Superstars – Wendy Choo.
Who will punch her ticket to NXT Stand & Deliver? Tune in to NXT on USA at 8/7 C to find out!
Wendy Choo will be making her return to in-ring action after one month out with an injury. In storyline, the NXT star was attacked in the parking lot by a mystery assailant.
A new report has revealed legitimate concerns over Roxanne Perez despite the storyline collapse, which you can read here.
