Ex-WWE Name Concerned That Top Star Would Be ‘Wardlow-ed’ In AEW WWE

Former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas has commented on Drew McIntyre potentially making the jump from WWE to AEW.

With Drew McIntyre currently on a wrestling hiatus ahead of his WWE contract reportedly set to expire in early 2024, it has been heavily speculated that McIntyre will eventually leave WWE and make an AEW debut.

Speaking with Inside The Ropes, Jimmy Korderas discussed these rumors, noting that he’d be concerned that McIntyre would be ‘Wardlow-ed’ in AEW.

Calling McIntyre a hell of a talent, Korderas said:

“A lot of rumours circulating around Drew McIntyre — hell of a talent, and you know, he’s in that WWE wheelhouse as far as looks, he’s good on the mic, he checks all the boxes.

“I just don’t want him to get Wardlow-ed if he goes over to AEW.

“I hate using that term, because I think there was a huge missed opportunity with that guy, he was so — I’m not saying that people have tuned on him completely, but he’s nowhere near getting the interest that he should be getting right now. I think they dropped the big ball.”

While Wardlow has had several TNT Title reigns, many fans argued that AEW was slow to utilise the rising star, and that he should be presented as a main eventer.
