The inspiration behind a WWE star’s ring gear at WWE Money in the Bank has revealed a story detail that you may have missed.
At the July 1 2023 PLE, there was a major title change as Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez became the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
The victory would come at the hands of Shayna Baszler, who betrayed her tag team partner, Ronda Rousey, making a statement in the aftermath of:
“Let the Galaxy burn.”
The wording is a subtle reference to Warhammer 40K, a long-running miniature wargame of which Baszler is a fan.
With an Amazon Studio series in development, Bazler has previously campaigned for a role in the series involving Henry Cavill.
As for the term “Let the Galaxy Burn”, it was the name of a short story anthology set in the Warhammer 40K universe.
And, the connection doesn’t end there, with Wienerburg-the-3rd noting another Warhammer connection that many may have missed.
As can be seen from the footage below this news story, Baszler’s gear was reminiscent of the armor worn by the sons of Horus.
According to the post on Reddit, they were the legion who betrayed the Emperor.
As an example, here’s the Sons of Horus Praetor, courtesy of Warhammer Community.
Further details of all things Warhammer can be found on the official website.
