A match for AEW Rampage that was taped on July 26, 2023 was scrapped at the last minute due to an injury as announced by Tony Khan.
Initial plans, as actually announced on Dynamite, would have seen Scorpio Sky taking on Kip Sabian in a match to be broadcast on Friday, July 28.
During the taping of the matches taping in Albany, New York directly after Dynamite, Tony Khan would address the fans in attendance.
Khan announced that Sky was injured and that Komander would replace him in the match.
Sky recently made his return from injury to AEW, facing Action Andretti on the July 8 episode of AEW Collision.
That match would mark Sky’s return after a year of absence, with it being reported in November 2022 that he was no longer injured, and has been cleared for quite some time.
At the time of writing, the nature of Sky’s injury hasn’t been made clear – we wish him well in his recovery.
