An update has emerged on plans for the reunion of The Way faction on the main roster.
When Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell all appeared together in a segment on the May 8 edition of Raw, many fans began to speculate about a storyline for the former NXT group on Raw.
Since then, the stars have barely been presented as a group, casting doubt on the future of the Way in WWE.
Sean Ross Sapp has now indicated that Vince McMahon scrapped plans for the group.
When asked about the Way storyline during a Fightful Select Q&A session, Sapp said:
“It effectively got Vince’d, but with Vince’s situation now (the surgery), I wonder if that will finally come to fruition.”
McMahon is currently recovering after a major spinal surgery. More details have emerged on this ‘life-altering’ procedure, which you can read more about right here.
This isn’t the only Johnny Gargano reunion fans are anticipating, with it being heavily speculated that Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will eventually challenge for Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s WWE Tag Team Championship.
Ciampa has commented on this storyline, which you can read more about right here.
