Roxanne Perez says she’s ready for Asuka.
Roxanne Perez is set to face former WWE Women’s Champion Asuka in a first time ever meeting on the October 10 edition of WWE NXT.
This bout came together thanks to Kiana James, who has been feuding with Perez over the past few weeks.
Speaking to Booker T on his Hall of Fame podcast, the former NXT Women’s Champion was asked about her showdown with Asuka. She replied:
“I am so ready. You know, I was thinking about this. Kiana James gave me a big task.”
“I have a big task ahead of me, Asuka, Grand Slam Champion, longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion undefeated in NXT. I think people tend to forget that I’m a prodigy.”
“I’m ‘The Prodigy.’ I’ve been grinding since I was 13 years old. I’ve been perfecting my craft so that one day when I made it to the WWE, I was performing at a mastery level to the likes of Asuka. So I think I’m ready. I think I’m so ready.”
This bout will mark Asuka’s first match in NXT since 2019.
Also scheduled for tonight’s show, John Cena will appear in Carmelo Hayes’s corner when he faces Bron Breakker, who will have Paul Heyman in his corner.
Also, Cody Rhodes will make a major announcement, and WWE is teasing an appearance by The Undertaker.
