A former WWE star who was one of the talents recently released by the company has picked up a championship win.
On September 21, WWE released upwards of 20 names from both the main roster and NXT.
One of the names released from NXT was Yulisa Leon, but things seem to be going well for her outside of WWE already.
Leon, now going by the name Julissa Mexa, has won the women’s championship for Mexican promotion The Crash.
She won a five-way match at The Crash’s 12th anniversary show, which also included Keyra, Zemaya, ROH’s Trish Adora, and defending champion Dulce Tormenta.
Unlike many of the other names released by WWE at the same time, Julissa had actually requested her release.
Her former NXT tag team partner Valentina Feroz responded to the championship win, writing: “Congratulations, my champion, I love you, very happy 😃😍😍😍”.
