GUNTHER has compared two potential Intercontinental Championship challengers as opponents.
On the November 6 episode of WWE Raw, The Miz defeated Bronson Reed, Ricochet and Ivar to become the number one contender for GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series.
Following the match, Ivar attacked the former two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion to set up a singles bout between the two on next Monday’s broadcast.
Appearing on the November 8 edition of WWE’s The Bump, “The Ring General” was asked to compare The Miz and Ivar as opponents. He replied:
“Two completely different competitors. Ivar … could be a very dangerous opponent for me, because he brings the size. He might be a little heavier than I am, and he brings the agility as well.”
GUNTHER continued on to compliment Ivar for his size and agility while also not sharing any positive things about The Miz, saying:
“[The Miz’s] wrestling skills are very [minimal], I think,”
“That’s why he’s not as much of a danger to me [as] Ivar would be. But he brings another upside. …”
“He’s able to tear me apart on the microphone. That has a psychological effect on people that are weaker-minded than I am.”
GUNTHER has beaten a who’s who of challengers as Intercontinental Champion, such as Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, Rey Mysterio and Bronson Reed.
