AEW’s plans for the Young Bucks ahead of their return to TV have been revealed, with a potential member of their new faction revealed.
Following Matt & Nick Jackson’s loss to Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho at AEW Full Gear, Brandon Cutler announced that the Young Bucks would be ‘taking time away‘ from wrestling.
It was later reported that AEW has plans for the Young Bucks to be ‘joined by other stars’ as heels.
Dave Meltzer has confirmed that the duo will form a heel stable.
Meltzer named Brandon Cutler and Colt Cabana as two stars who have been discussed for the group, but noted that Cabana doesn’t appear to be a certainty for the group.
Dave Meltzer wrote the following in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
They look to be doing a heel group with Brandon Cutler.
Colt Cabana’s name has been mentioned but that doesn’t appear to be a certainty.
The idea is for them to take some time off and come back as heels with major impact.
It’s in the beginning stages and there’s no known time frame on when they will pull the trigger on it and they will return.
Cabana’s most recent AEW TV appearance came on the November 2, 2022 AEW Dynamite, where he challenged for Chris Jericho’s ROH World Championship.
He has recently wrestled dark matches at AEW tapings, notably teaming with Brandon Cutler.
The Young Bucks recently filed for some interesting trademarks.
