An update has emerged on creative plans for the heel turns of AEW EVPs the Young Bucks, following recent teases including Full Gear 2023.
At the November 16 pay-per-view, Matt and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks were defeated by Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho.
With Omega and Jericho winning the Young Bucks’ AEW Tag Team Title shot in the process, Matt and Nick Jackson threw tantrums after the match, destroying the ringside area.
Brandon Cutler then made the announcement that the Young Bucks are now ‘taking some time away from wrestling.’
Per Fightful Select, this is all marking the beginning of the Young Bucks’ official heel turn.
The report noted that there have been plans for the Young Bucks to be joined by other stars.
This seems to indicate that the duo will be part of a heel faction.
It was noted that tentative plans will see Brandon Cutler remain aligned with the Bucks.
Cutler being the one to tweet about Matt and Nick Jackson ‘taking time away’ appears to confirm this.
He’ll also reportedly “be doing a lot of the speaking for them on screen and social media moving forward”.
