An update has been provided on top WWE star and former multi-time women’s champion Charlotte Flair after a legitimate injury.
On the December 8 edition of SmackDown, Asuka defeated Charlotte Flair with a distraction from Damage CTRL’s Bayley.
During the course of the bout, Flair got her leg caught up on the top rope and was seen limbing towards the closing stretch before being escorted backstage by officials and personnel.
As previously reported, WWE announced that Charlotte had been removed from the following weekend’s live events.
Per PWInsider, Charlotte Flair has returned home to Florida following her apparent leg injury. WWE sources have stated that she is not expected back in the ring until she is completely evaluated medically.
Due to the nature of her injury, the company felt the need to pull her from the road until they got confirmation on it.
The report also notes that Flair is believed to have injured her ankle during the match with Asuka.
WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Charlotte Flair’s status when they become available.
