There has been another potential major hint that a former WWE star is set to return to the company imminently.
Andrade El Idolo is officially done with AEW, with his final match taking place at Worlds End, and his defeat on the show to Miro.
Following Andrade’s departure, many believed him to be on his way back to WWE, possibly as soon as last week’s WWE Day 1 episode of Raw.
While Andrade did not appear on last week’s show, another major hint that Andrade could be on his way back to the company happened today.
Taking to Twitter, GCW announced that, due to circumstances out of their control, both Andrade and Maki Itoh were pulled from this Friday’s event.
Maki was pulled due to her having numbness in her arm, and taking a break from wrestling, while Andrade’s absence is seemingly not known.
Obviously Andrade’s absence could be completely unrelated to a potential return to WWE, him being removed from upcoming independent events is another sign that he could be set to be on his way back to the company.
Due to circumstances out of control, ANDRADE and MAKI ITOH will be unable to compete on Friday's event in Chicago.
The following replacements have been signed:
MASHA SLAMOVICH will replace Maki Itoh
LIO RUSH will replace Andrade
