Rey Mysterio is likely to return to in-ring action in the next few weeks according to a recent report about the WWE Hall of Famer.
Mysterio was betrayed by his LWO teammates in November 2023 with the storyline being used as an on-screen reason to write him off television.
It would later be revealed that Mysterio would “miss 6 to 8 weeks” having undergone surgery on his right knee.
In an update on Mysterio’s return, Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that:
“Rey Mysterio’s return now looks to be in a few weeks. He was hoping for late January but is pretty close to being ready to return”
Rey Mysterio had hoped to be ready for an in-ring return at the Royal Rumble on January 27, 2024.
He has recently heaped praise upon WWE NXT’s Dragon Lee, comparing the former North American Champion to a younger version of himself.
Mysterio lost the United States Championship to Logan Paul at WWE Crown Jewel in 2023, with highlights from the match below this news story.
