AEW President Tony Khan has commented on an international partnership, naming a star who he wants to bring to the promotion.
Khan has been establishing AEW’s working relationship with Mexican promotion CMLL in recent weeks, with several CMLL luchadors appearing on Dynamite, Rampage and Collision.
During the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum, Khan confirmed that female stars from CMLL are able to appear for AEW as part of the two promotions’ partnership.
Noting that he’d love to have Stephanie Vaquer in AEW, Khan said:
“Yes and yes. Absolutely it would and it can. I would love to have Stephanie here and I have already talked to Salvador about that and I’m excited about it.
“She is somebody I’ve asked Salvador about and would love to have here. We’re also very happy with that relationship. CMLL has been great partners and we love working with them. We’d love to have Stephanie here.”
Vaquer currently holds both the CMLL Women’s Championship and Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Zeuxis.
With it believed that Mercedes Mone will debut for AEW at the March 13 Dynamite Big Business show, the promotion’s women’s division will likely have an added focus soon.
Mone recently took to social media to provide an update on her status, teasing her AEW debut.
