AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed an AEW star has been cleared to compete in a scheduled match, following a recent injury scare.
This week’s AEW Dynamite emanating from Atlanta, GA’s Gas South Arena, will be the first to feature brand new presentation for Dynamite – including a new logo.
Adding to the excitement for the show, Khan has taken to Twitter to confirm two matches set to take place – one of which was previously placed into doubt following AEW Revolution 2024.
Firstly, in the women’s division it was announced that former TBS Champion Kris Statlander will take on inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion Riho.
As Khan notes in his tweet, Statlander is fresh off a win during the AEW Revolution Zero-Hour pre-show, with herself and Willow Nightingale knocking off TBS Champion Julia Hart and Skye Blue.
Then, in what is no doubt a match many are excited for, Will Ospreay will attempt to continue his momentum by taking on yet another member of the Don Callis Family – Kyle Fletcher.
Fletcher is not not only a current ally of Ospreay’s in the Don Callis Family but a member of United Empire, Ospreay’s-collective in NJPW.
Following Ospreay’s brutal match with Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution, Tony Khan said it was “questionable” that he would be cleared to compete against Fletcher – however, those doubts now appear to be quashed.
