With tonight’s new AEW Dynamite set, the return of the demarcated ‘babyface’ and ‘heel’ tunnels creating a visually different entrance.
Interestingly, it was Swerve Strickland who was the first to emerge through the newly returned babyface tunnel as he and Price Nana made their entrance.
Subsequent entrances from Samoa Joe as well as the Undisputed Kingdom went through the heel tunnel.
In another rare move for AEW, there was an impromptu match as Tony Schiavone informed the Undisputed Kingdom, after they interrupted an in-ring promo segment between Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland, that a match was set to begin right now.
Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe would team together for the immediate match facing off against the Kingdom’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett.
Swerve picked up the victory for his team but in the end, got choked out by Samoa Joe as Wardlow watched on.
It was confirmed in this segment that next week on AEW Dynamite, Samoa Joe will defend his AEW World Championship against the winner of the Revolution 8-man scramble, Wardlow.
