An AEW name has explained why now is the perfect time for WWE to form a relationship with his employer.
On last week’s edition of SmackDown, The Rock made reference to AEW star Dustin Rhodes during his promo against his younger brother Cody, citing the age-gap between the siblings as a way to insult The American Nightmare.
While Cody has himself some back up in his war against The Bloodline in the form of Seth Rollins, an AEW name feels now would be a great time for a deal to be struck between WWE & AEW in order to bring Dustin into the fold for WrestleMania 40.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry discussed the potential of an agreement between the two companies, and why the Road to WrestleMania makes for the perfect time for it to happen.
Henry said:
“And as far as there being an opportunity for a working relationship, which Triple H said a year and change ago, that they’re open for a working relationship with AEW.”
“It’s yet to be seen, but they were open for it. This is the time, if you ever were going to do it, try to get it done, you’ve got four weeks.”
Due to his contract with AEW, Dustin has kept his involvement to strictly social media rather than any on camera WWE appearances, something that, as Henry stated would require an agreement between the two companies.
Cody is set to pull double-duty over WrestleMania 40 weekend, teaming with Seth Rollins to face The Rock and Roman Reigns on WrestleMania Saturday, before looking to ‘Finish His Story’ on WrestleMania Sunday against the Tribal Chief.
