WWE are reportedly “very happy” with the viral success of a particular spot from WrestleMania 40.
WrestleMania 40 has not only been widely acclaimed by a majority of fans, but the event has also shattered records for the company.
This past weekend’s event was not only the most successful WrestleMania, but also the most successful WWE event of all-time.
While this will obviously delight WWE and TKO’s higher-ups, it seems that one spot in particular has been singled out for its individual success.
The United States Championship match between Logan Paul, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton, featured a surprise appearance by popular streamer IShowSpeed, who much like KSI the year prior at WrestleMania 39 was revealed to be under the mask of the Prime Hydration mascot at ringside.
Speed would interject in the match by costing Randy Orton the victory, which led to a heated confrontation between the two, and eventually a vicious boot from Orton and an RKO on the commentary table.
According to Fightful Select, WWE were “very happy” with the numbers that Speed’s spot drew for them, which reportedly “alleviated any heat of the f bombs thrown” by the streamer when he got in Orton’s face.
Following Speed’s interference Paul would eventually get the win in the match, retaining his US Championship yet again by pinning Kevin Owens.
