10 Best WWE Raw Moments Of The 2010s

7. The Shield Disintegrates – June 2, 2014

Whenever you can play with people’s emotions in wrestling, you know you are doing something right. This was one of those moments. Everyone knew The Shield would not last forever but not many could have expected the group to come to an end like this. The night after they defeated Evolution at Payback, Seth Rollins turned on his Shield brothers to join The Authority.

As Triple H proclaimed, “there’s always a Plan B”, Rollins reared back and cracked Roman Reigns in the back with a chair. The best moment of this segment was the split-second before Rollins made impact when you could hear one heartbroken fan yell “NOOOOOOOOO”. They had the fans, hook, line, and sinker.

6. The Salmon Jacket – June 17, 2013

Wanna talk about hooking the fans? Look no further than this segment. In 2013, Mark Henry had been with WWE for nearly two decades. His run had peaked in 2011 and since then, injuries had marred his return to the top. When he walked out on Raw and announced he would be retiring, the crowd broke down.

Henry gave an incredible speech, weeping about coming home to his family. John Cena was WWE Champion and came out to help give Henry a proper send-off. Little did Cena and all the fans know that this was all an elaborate ruse. As Cena gave Henry a hug, Henry lifted him up and hit the World’s Strongest Slam. The crowd was shocked and Henry had pulled off the greatest fake retirement of all time.

5. Finally… The Rock has come Back! – February 14, 2011

It seemed for a while that The Rock may never return to WWE. He had not made an appearance with the company since 2004 and his star continued to grow in Hollywood. When WWE was set to announce the guest host of WrestleMania XXVII on Raw in 2011, it finally happened. The Rock made his return to WWE and wasted no time picking a target.

The Rock and John Cena had had issues in real life and this was the time for The Rock to be the voice of the people who didn’t like John Cena. As only he could, The Rock fired off on Cena, making fun of his catchphrase and his colourful shirts, dubbing his a “big fat bowl of Fruity Pebbles”.

This would lead to their eventual matches at WrestleMania XXVIII and 29 but it all started here.

4. Becky Lynch Breaks her Face – November 12, 2018

WWE has had trouble making those massive Raw moments happen in recent years. However, sometimes they happen organically. This was one such occasion. Becky Lynch had been gaining a ton of fan support after a baffling heel turn saw WWE try to turn her against the fans. Fans rebelled, as they have been known to do, and Lynch became the biggest star in the promotion.

On November 12, 2018, she had her most iconic moment. During a SmackDown invasion of Raw prior to Survivor Series, Lynch was punched square in the face by Nia Jax. She suffered a legitimate broken nose and a concussion because, well, Nia Jax is bad at wrestling, but it gave an iconic visual.

Lynch, a total badass, stood atop the Raw brand as an invader with her face covered in blood. WWE had never had their women show blood, so their biggest star standing tall covered in her own blood was a perfect way to establish her.
