10 NXT Call-Ups That WWE Horrendously Botched

9. Apollo Crews

In his rather short stint in NXT, Apollo proved he has what it takes to be a star. What Crews lack in stature, he makes up in strength and athleticism, and because of his impressive physique, many thought he would find success on the main roster. Crew’s NXT career started in the summer of 2015, where he defeated the aforementioned Tye Dillinger at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. He experienced relative success in NXT, even facing Finn Balor for the NXT Championship, which he won via DQ when a angered Baron Corbin interfered.

Crews’ main roster debut came in April of 2016, defeating Tyler Breeze. Then defeating Sheamus at Money in the Bank. It was all downhill from there, and Crews has done very little of note sense his debut, having only two titles matches (against the Miz for the IC Title both times) and losing both, until joining forces with Titus O’Neil to form Titus Worldwide, the team’s most memorable moment was Titus’s slide at the Greatest Royal Rumble, and losing a tag team title match to The Bar.

There is still hope for the hybrid wrestler, with Titus Worldwide now disbanded, Apollo will look to build momentum for a singles push.
