10 People Who Did Better On The Main Roster Than NXT

5. Xavier Woods

NXT Run: 2012-2014

Main Roster Call-Up: November 2013

NXT Accomplishments: None

Main Roster Accomplishments: 2x Raw Tag Team Champion, 6x SmackDown Tag Team Champion

Xavier Woods was one of the people who started with NXT during its rebrand and move to Full Sail in 2012. He appeared for the brand until 2014, even doing so after making his main roster debut in November 2013.

After a few months of doing nothing of note on the main roster, Woods’ fortunes changed when he, Kofi Kingston and fellow former NXT star Big E formed New Day, with the group going on to become one of the best and most consistent things about WWE since it’s formation in 2014.

Since the formation of New Day, Xavier Woods has become a regular fixture on the main roster, showing his skills on the mic and in the ring when called upon. After winning nothing in NXT, Woods has gone on to become an eight-time tag team champion for the promotion.

It’s clear that the current TalkingSmack host benefited a great deal from being called-up to the main roster, and is in a significantly better position than many people would have expected him to be during his time at Full Sail.

4. Elias

NXT Run: 2014-2017

Main Roster Call-Up: April 2017

NXT Accomplishments: None

Main Roster Accomplishments: None

Elias debuted on NXT TV in 2014, and like Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville who we’ve also mentioned on this list, didn’t really do anything of note on that Full Sail before departing for the main roster.

Like King Corbin, Elias is certainly a wrestler who is significantly better suited to the main roster than he was to NXT, with the fast-paced independent style of matches not being his forte. During his heel run on the main roster, Elias often generated the most heel heat of anyone on a WWE show.

While he may have been positioned as a babyface occasionally, Elias works far better as a heel and has often been given the chance to feud with some of the company’s top babyfaces during his time on the main roster.

Taking this into consideration, there is no doubt that Elias has done better thus far on the main roster than he did while working down in NXT between 2014-17.

3. Alexa Bliss

NXT Run: 2014-2016

Main Roster Call-Up: July 2016

NXT Accomplishments: None

Main Roster Accomplishments: 2018 Miss Money in the Bank, 2x Women’s Tag Team Champion, 2x SmackDown Tag Team Champion, 3x Raw Women’s Champion

Alexa Bliss did do some good work as the valet for Blake and Murphy while in NXT, but there is no denying that she has enjoyed the majority of her success with the company after debuting on the main roster in 2016.

After failing to win the NXT Women’s Championship during her time at Full Sail, Alexa Bliss captured the SmackDown Women’s Championship just five months after arriving on the main roster in 2016.

Following that, Bliss has gone on to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship once more, the Raw Women’s Championship on three separate occasions, the Women’s Tag Team Championship twice, and even became Miss Money in the Bank in 2018.

Bliss has feuded with Ronda Rousey, Bayley, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch since arriving on the main roster, and even faced Charlotte Flair on pay-per-view, clearly solidifying herself as a key player in the women’s division for WWE.

This proves that Alexa Bliss is clearly one of the people who benefited from a move to the main roster from NXT, and is actually in a pretty position after being called-up from the black and gold brand.
