Hot Brawl Opening
Last night’s show didn’t open in the usual manner, with a wrestler or wrestlers entering the ring for either a match or a promo.
Instead, the show opened with The Miz and Logan Paul already brawling in the ring.
Now, the reported reason for this according to Dave Meltzer is that WWE didn’t want fans watching on TV to see Paul getting booed a lot, but it’s definitely a big change to the usual opening for a WWE show.
It’s a smart move, as it will actually make fans wonder what will open a show, rather than them simply assuming it will be a standard promo segment.
To add to the general sense of urgency, we also had the backstage Judgment Day and Mysterio fight, and Rollins attacking Riddle at the end of the show. It just felt more surprising.
