Cruiserweight Championship
As hinted at several times in this preview, 205 Live will play host to a colossal championship main event. After missing weight at his first opportunity, Buddy Murphy will finally get his shot at Cedric Alexander’s Cruiserweight Championship. Murphy has been on a roll since joining the cruiserweight division, and one could argue he’s been the most exciting member of the roster since then. Alexander, to his credit, has been a key feature of 205 Live since the inception of the brand. His coronation at WrestleMania was a big moment for all who supported him during the purple brand’s darker times.
The two men are bound to have a great match. Both are incredibly talented workers, and their styles will play off each other well. However, only one man will leave the show with the championship. Though Buddy has certainly earned his opportunity, Alexander is still in the early days of his reign. If the company wants 205 Live to be taken seriously again, a long title reign for Alexander is the way to go. Therefore, my prediction is an Alexander retention, but not necessarily a win.
