How Did It End?: Dustin Rhodes’ real-life wife Terri Runnels was introduced as Marlena at Royal Rumble ’96 to add a layer of intrigue to the Goldust character, which was previously assumed to be homosexual. The pair split in 1997 when Brian Pillman began claiming Goldust’s daughter Dakota was actually his. That storyline was dropped when Pillman died and Goldust became TAFKA Goldust and moved on to the equally batty Luna Vachon. The couple later divorced in real life.
