4. Rey Mysterio
Does anyone actually know what “Booyaka” means?
Rey Mysterio shocked the wrestling world when he appeared at number 27 in the 2018 Royal Rumble, making his return to the WWE for the first time in nearly four years. I popped so loudly, I woke my friend’s mum up. Sorry, Mrs. Palmer.
Rey’s return turned out to be a one-off, as we haven’t seen him in the WWE since, but it certainly sparked a lot of conversation surrounding the masked man’s full WWE comeback.
There were initially rumors that Rey might be being prepared as a WrestleMania opponent for John Cena, but WWE seems to be fully committing to Cena vs. the Undertaker at this year’s show. I mean, they sort of have to do that match now, right? Can you imagine if they swerved at this point? Titan Towers would burn.
This being said, Rey could still make an appearance at ‘Mania. It’s unlikely that he would appear in a wrestling capacity, as he’s currently out with an injury, but there’s still lots of things he could do. I hear there’s a WWE Cruiserweight Championship up for grabs this year and who better to present the belt to the winner than one of the most revolutionary and famous cruiserweights of all time?
Mysterio’s relationship with the WWE looks pretty healthy right now, which puts his chances of a return at an all-time high. I just hope Mrs. Palmer can forgive me when I inevitably wake her up again if Rey comes back a second time.
