AEW
On last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland announced that he would be retiring from wrestling in 2027.
This will mark the second time Copeland’s career has come to an end, with him now having the option to end his career on his own terms rather than being forced into retirement back in 2011.
With Copeland now getting to close out his career his way, here are some potential options we could see for his final opponent.
MJF

There are a number of top names in AEW that Copeland has yet to lock up with during his time with the company, one of those being MJF.
With MJF feuding with many names from his past over the years, it would make sense for him to eventually lock up with Cope and send him off into the sunset.
MJF beating Copeland would also put over a younger name on the roster on the way out.
Christian Cage

Also on last night’s show, Copeland announced that Christian Cage suffered cracked ribs and a collapsed lung during the Ladder match at AEW All Out.
With Copeland now set to go solo for the next few months, we could see one more match between the two men take place next year, which would serve as the retirement match for Copeland, if not both men.
Kenny Omega

When Adam Copeland debuted in AEW, the very first appearance he made on Dynamite was appearing backstage with Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.
Despite immediately meeting up with Omega upon arrival, he and Kenny have yet to cross paths in the ring.
With Omega’s time in the ring also winding down, a major All In event taking place in Canada headlined by Copeland retiring against Omega would be a major draw, potentially over WrestleMania weekend when WWE heads over to Saudi Arabia,
Sheamus

When Edge left WWE back in 2023, his final match in the company took place in Toronto on SmackDown against Sheamus.
Just over three years later, and not only is Copeland looking to retire next year, but Sheamus is now also a free agent, with him potentially set to join AEW in the near future.
A full circle moment would be Sheamus debuting in AEW, and him once again being the final opponent for Copeland, this time in AEW and his career in general.
