Roxanne Perez and Bron Breakker were originally planned to win their respective WWE Money in the Bank ladder matches according to a new report.

This past Saturday (October 10) saw New Orleans host the 2026 Money in the Bank premium live event, and as always two lucky WWE stars claimed a guaranteed championship opportunity by retrieving the Money in the Bank briefcase.

For the women’s match, Tiffany Stratton bounced back from a scary fall off the ladder to claim her second briefcase, while Penta earned the men’s Money in the Bank contract in the show’s main event.

While both Stratton and Penta were considered to be in with a good chance of winning by many fans, the odds on favorites heading into Money in the Bank were actually Roxanne Perez and Bron Breakker.

While neither walked out with a championship opportunity in their possession, False Finish is reporting that Perez and Breakker were in fact originally scheduled to win their respective Money in the Bank matches before WWE opted to go with Stratton and Penta.

Penta debuted a custom Money in the Bank briefcase on last night’s WWE Raw (October 12), following his win on Saturday, and was congratulated on his win by a very beaten up Je’Von Evans. Bron Breakker eventually showed up to deliver another spear to Evans, so it appears as if WWE may potentially be set to explore a feud between he and Penta.

WWE Raw also gave us an unfortunate update on Tiffany Stratton, as it was revealed by Liv Morgan that the new Ms. Money in the Bank “injured herself” during the ladder match on Saturday.

Did WWE make the right call? Or should they have went with their original Money in the Bank winner plans?

While Penta’s Money in the Bank win has been celebrated by the majority of fans, Tiffany Stratton’s was far more controversial.

Not only did Stratton only just win Money in the Bank two years ago, but she also successfully cashed in and held the WWE Women’s Championship for almost the entirety of 2025.

Even though she hasn’t really been in the main event picture all that much in 2026, she still spent 112 days with the Women’s United States Title, so it’s not like she’s not had success.

Roxanne Perez on the other hand is stuck playing Liv Morgan’s sidekick in The Judgment Day –  a faction that many feel has overstayed its welcome at this point.

Perez certainly needed the win far more, and it could have then played into a potential Judgment Day breakup storyline, or at the very least, got Perez away from the group.

Granted, Stratton has likely been given the briefcase so she can stab Chelsea Green in the back and take her WWE Women’s Title. While that will be a cool moment – and Stratton is certainly in need of a heel turn – it could be argued she didn’t really need Money in the Bank for that.
