WWE
The October 13 episode of WWE NXT will continue the build to Halloween Havoc in October 31, with a new number one contender for Grayson Waller’s NXT Championship being determined.
Also advertised is a one-on-one match between Saquon Shugars and Tristan Angels, as well as two quarterfinal matches in the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: The Vanity Project’s Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes vs. Chazz “Starboy” Hall & Mini Vikingo and Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) vs. Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar.
While the show promises to give fans plenty to discuss, we could see Shawn Michaels give fans some unexpected moments along with the advertised action.
Here are two potential surprises on the October 13 episode of WWE NXT:
Upsets in the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
Tonight’s two quarterfinal Dusty Cup matches both provide opportunities for some of the tournament’s overall favourites to crash out to more unfancied opposition.
The duo of Chazz “Starboy” Hall and Mini Vikingo already pulled off one upset when they dumped out BirthRight’s Uriah Connors & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, while Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar knocked off AAA’s Los Americanos.
For Hall and Vikingo, dumping out the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions would be an incredible feat for a duo that was only thrown together for the tournament, and given how electric their performance was in the first round WWE should really be looking to press forward and keep them in the tournament as long as they can.
With a recent hint that Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar’s tag team could be set to receive an official name, we could be set to see the Spanish and Scottish stars go all the way to the final, knocking off one of NXT’s best all-time tag teams Fraxiom before they get there.
Tavion Heights returns to cost Myles Borne NXT Championship number one contender’s match
Tonight will see Grayson Waller’s WWE NXT Championship opponent for Halloween Havoc be officially named when Tony D’Angelo and Myles Borne battle it out in a number one contender’s match.
Borne has momentum coming from his recent heel turn, but he’s yet to face repercussions for his actions; something that may very well be coming his way tonight on NXT.
Tavion Heights has been off TV since Borne Pillmanized his ankle in a chair on September 15, but it’s a matter of time before he comes back to get some revenge.
With Tony D’Angelo in need of a big win after losing his title to Waller at Heatwave, Heights should come back and cost his former tag team partner the opportunity to challenge for NXT’s biggest prize.
