The lineup of matches has been confirmed for the first episode of WWE Main Event on video platform Rumble.

Tomorrow – Wednesday, October 14 – WWE Main Event moves to Wednesday nights instead of Thursdays, and rather than airing on YouTube, it’ll be airing on Rumble via a new partnership that was announced recently.

Main Event matches are generally taped before episodes of WWE Raw and SmackDown go live on the air, menaing there’s a few days delay from when the matches actually happened to when we get to see them.

Here are the four matches that’ll be airing on the relaunched version of Main Event on Rumble this week.

Sol Ruca vs. Lyra Valkyria

Sol Ruca has had a fairly decent start to her WWE main roster run, without her push setting the world alight, as she had a short reign with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship and was just featured in the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Valkyria, meanwhile, remains embroiled in a storyline with Bayley, though hasn’t really featured on TV much in recent months due to Bayley’s absence from July to September while there was uncertainty over whether she’d re-sign with WWE or leave the company.

However, considering both of their statuses on the roster as former champions, and their popularities among the WWE fanbase, this is a fairly big match as far as Main Event goes, as it could easily be a match we see on Raw as well.

Rey Fenix vs. Kit Wilson

Rey Fenix has been on a hot streak during his reign as AAA World Cruiserweight Champion, as he’s not only had stellar matches in AAA, but he’s also had some great outings on WWE Raw and SmackDown, including just this past Monday against Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Title.

Meanwhile, Wilson got hot a few months ago, and while he has cooled off since partnering up with The Miz, he has at least found himself a solid position on the SmackDown roster – though Miz and Wilson are starting to appear on Main Event a bit more frequently than they feature on SmackDown, which isn’t ideal.

There’s no doubt Fenix wins this one.

Dragon Lee vs. Austin Theory w/ Maxxine Dupri

Dragon Lee is another name like Rey Fenix who has been afforded opportunities to have some incredible matches in AAA, but has carried that over to mainline WWE TV on plenty of occasions recently as well.

He’s recently been in a rivlary with Big Cass, which he’s getting the better of with a win over Cass a couple of weeks ago, and helping Rey Mysterio defeat Cass this past Monday.

Austin Theory, on the other hand, is one half of the World Tag Team Champions with Bron Breakker, but despite that and his partnership with Maxxine Dupri, he still feels like the bottom tier guy in The Vision.

While you occasionally get big names on Main Event, Theory is finding himself on the show too regularly, and really by this point in his career when you consider his push a few years ago and his obvious skill level, you’d have thought he’d be a main show exclusive guy.

Nathan Frazer vs. Ricky Saints

Nathan Frazer and Axiom – collectively known as Fraxiom – are victims of WWE’s horrendous handling of its tag team division, as they should be featured on television far more prominently than they are.

Granted, they do get on TV pretty much every week, but more often than not, it’s just a couple of minutes (if that) in a backstage segment, and usually, when they do have a match, they lose.

Saints has found himself in a similar position lately after a decent start to his main roster run, but you’d expect him to find his footing again once SmackDown moves back to three hours in the new year.

This match could go either way really, but Saints might just edge it based on the likelihood of him being pushed as a singles talent compared to Frazer who’s very much a tag team guy right now.
