AEW stars who could host MyAEW shows, including two who are currently absent

MyAEW was launched this year, giving “fans immersive access to live and on-demand events”, with podcasts a natural fit for the platform.

Announced back in March, MyAEW has grown to include a number of independent wrestling promotions, along with pay-per-views, an archive for Dynamite and Collision, and ROH content.

On top of wrestling action, the platform also includes AEW Unrestricted, the podcast interview series that was hosted by Aubrey Edwards and Will Washington.

With WWE Radio likely to grow its own show offerings over on SiriusXM, it would make sense for AEW to do the same though its own platform, with a number of stars an ideal fit for hosting duties:

Kip Sabian & Penelope Ford

Last seen in an AEW ring last September, Kip Sabian competed over in ROH back in April, while Penelope Ford continues to be absent, potentially due to an injury suffered earlier this year.

The pair have been active on Twitch over the years, individually and as a couple, demonstrating their easygoing charisma (alongside Sabian’s aggressive reaction to some of his gameplay), with that charm making them a perfect fit for MyAEW.

In video form, alongside New Level, it would be easy to see a new gaming show as a cornerstone of MyAEW.

Mercedes Mone

Among the biggest stars in AEW, Mone has her own online offering in the form of the Mone Mag, offering insights into her past, present and future in professional wrestling, and touching upon current happenings in the business.

Mone Mag has a digital following, and it would be an ideal product for the star to narrate each issue as a video.

Taz, Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness

WWE Radio has Busted Open, presented by Dave LaGreca and co-hosted by the likes of Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer. It’s current iteration is largely focused on WWE, which should come as little surprise.

For MyAEW, a similar format would work well with Taz, Schiavone and McGuinness hosting, deep-diving into what’s happening in the world of All Elite Wrestling and the independent promotions featured on the streaming platform, sharing their many years of experience in a way that would be well regarded by subscribers.

Should MyAEW compete with WWE Radio?

WWE Radio is, as the name suggests, primarily an audio format, with some of its content also being provided as video through platforms such as YouTube.

MyAEW, by contrast, is pitched as a video solution first and foremost, although podcasts, by their nature, translate well as audio.

While both platforms differ in their nature, they have one thing in common: the fans engaged enough to want to subscribe and consume content.

There’s probably little need for MyAEW and WWE Radio to be seen in competition with each other, despite a potential crossover with the fanbase, but maximizing the opportunities to attract and retain consumers is a key driver of any such business.
