Going into AEW All Out 2026, there are several stars who could be on their way back to the promotion.
Whether it be stars returning from injury or making their comeback to reestablish themselves, there is some big potential to see major AEW names making their way back in Chicago.
From former champions to long absent stars, All Out could have some noteworthy returns on September 26.
Here are four potential returns at AEW All Out 2026.
Samoa Joe
On the September 16 edition of AEW Dynamite, “Jungle” Jack Perry called out Samoa Joe for a fight.
In his quest to become the best by facing the best, Perry wants Joe to be the latest former AEW World Champion that he wants to test himself against.
“The Samoan Submission Machine” has been out of action after taking time off to return to Hollywood.
With Perry set to face Katsuyori Shibata on the Tailgate Brawl pre-show, fans could see Joe make his return to lay out the former Jungle Boy in Chicago.
Buddy Matthews
Buddy Matthews has been on the shelf since suffering an ankle injury at AEW Grand Slam: Australia 2025.
The former House of Black member recently revealed that he had been cleared to compete again in August.
Since he can return to in-ring action, Matthews deserves a big return that could happen in Chicago.
Whether it be stepping up to a current champion or attacking a top star, Buddy Matthews could reestablish himself on the AEW roster with a comeback at All Out 2026.
Ruby Soho
One of the AEW stars who has been out of action for more than a year is Ruby Soho.
In 2024, Soho announced that she was pregnant and would be taking some time off.
After giving birth to her first child, Soho was seen starting her training inside the ring again.
Considering her AEW debut took place at All Out 2021, Ruby Soho could make her return to the company at this year’s All Out back in Chicago in a full circle moment.
MJF
Following AEW All In London 2026, MJF stated that he was taking some time away and would come back to get revenge on AEW World Champion Will Ospreay.
After losing the AEW World Title, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has become “The One True Champion.”
Now wanting to get vengeance, Friedman could make his way to attack Ospreay in Chicago.
With Ospreay set to face Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship on September 26, MJF might feel this is the perfect time to enact his revenge on “The Aerial Assassin” on a major stage.
