An Epic Rivalry Renewed at Today’s G1 Climax Event – August 2 RESULTS

Jay White vs. Yoshi-Hashi

Jay White pinned Yoshi-Hashi in a very good match between CHAOS members.

White hit YH before the bell rang and immediately went for the corner chops. YH quickly fought back with forearms and stomps of his own. Desperate, White dumped YH to the outside on his injured shoulder. On the outside, White tossed YH back and forth between the barricade and the ring apron. On commentary, Romero claimed he was “done” with White’s antics.

YH ran back into the ring to beat the count, but White immediately locked in a submission. In the hold, White told YH that was gonna “teach him” and that he “would have to listen to him.” After YH broke the hold, White got a chair on the outside. The referee attempted to stop him, but White reasoned with him, saying “I’m gonna make him learn.”

Before he could teach a lesson, YH got back to his feet and made a comeback on White, getting a two-count with a Blockbuster. YH continued hitting strikes and chops, but Switchblade managed a German suplex to regain advantage.

White went for a Blade Runner, but YH rolled him up for a nearfall. There were several attempts at finishers that were countered that resulted in a ref bump. In the chaos, White managed a low blow. He went for another Blade Runner, but YH managed to escape.

Another Yoshi-Hashi comeback ensued, and the crowd began to rally behind him. He attempted Karma one more time, but White countered it into a Blade Runner for the clean win. After the match, Switchblade went to the commentary booth, saying that “Some things had to be done,” telling Romero “You know I’m right.”

This puts White at 10 points, while Yoshi-Hashi remains at two. Crucially, White holds tiebreakers over both Okada and Tanahashi.
