Free Agents To Sign With WWE NXT

2026 has been a big year for WWE NXT, with new stars arriving and many others moving on to Raw and SmackDown.

While the brand has filled many of the gaps left post-WrestleMania 42, there are still potentially going to incomings before the year’s up.

Here are three free agents to potentially sign with NXT.

Anthony Bowens

With Anthony Bowens’ AEW contract said to be coming up in October, last week it was reported that WWE had “some interest” in signing the 35-year-old.

After an excellent initial run with Max Caster as The Acclaimed, the two went their separate ways in early 2025, but they failed to hit the ground running.Bowens especially seemed like he had all the tools to become a future babyface champion, but he never really got close to achieving any major success before he eventually turned back heel.

Bowens is now a member of Samoa Joe’s The Opps faction, who spent their All In London weekend losing to The Rascalz and Lio Rush in the first match of the pre-show; which is perhaps a signifier of where Bowens’ stock is at in the company right now.

With no word about whether WWE are also interested in Caster – who’s AEW contract is also expiring in October – perhaps NXT can be the place where Bowens reignites his career.

Richard Holliday

Subject of WWE rumors throughout the Summer, Richard Holliday has yet to arrive in NXT like many thought he would have by now.

The former MLW star attended a WWE tryout earlier this year, and it was reported that the company were interested in signing him.

Holliday would then appear to say his goodbyes in GCW back in July, however, he has since continued to wrestle on the indies.

Holliday has certainly had a bit of fun with the speculation, but fans will still be expecting him to land in WWE NXT before too long.

Enzo Amore

Another potential WWE arrival that has gone quiet has been the return of Enzo Amore.

The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion was said to be heading back to WWE after being spotted at the Performance Center in Orlando back in May, with reports suggesting he was planned to for the NXT brand when he did.

With his former tag partner Big Cass already back in WWE on his own, it remains to be seen whether a reunion is on the cards or whether they plan to keep them apart; with Cass on Raw and Enzo on NXT.

With a lack of tangible updates since May, it’s also possible that Enzo’s return just isn’t happening at all. However, that would feel like a bit of a missed opportunity given how well he and Cass work together as pair, and how much WWE are in need of new tag teams on their roster.
