How WWE SHOULD Have Booked Evolution

Raw Women’s Title
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Natalya

Although Ronda and Nikki Bella did a superb job building to the actual Evolution main event on Raw, is it a match that anyone really wants to see?

Nikki is fine. She’s not a bad wrestler, she’s certainly not a great wrestler. She’s just fine.

Yet WWE are painting Nikki as a legendary figure in the history of the women’s division, a tactic they have done with others previously in transparent attempts at building interest in so-called dream matches that nobody really buys into.

A much better option to square off with the invincible Raw Women’s Champion would be Natalya.

Not only is she far more composed in the ring than Nikki but she and Rousey have a storyline that has been building since Ronda debuted with the company.

The whole “Ronda Rousey’s best friend Natalya” thing looked certain to lead to a Natalya heel turn and a match between the two, only it never happened.

It should have. Natalya could be presented as a viable threat to Ronda due to her superior technical wrestling ability, giving fans a reason to believe Rousey might actually lose.

She wouldn’t, of course, but that would not be the end of the story.

Shayna Baszler, another friend of Rousey would make her presence felt after the match, attacking Ronda to signify her call-up to the main roster and setting the wheels in motion for Rousey’s autumn programme.
