Impact Results and Review: Raven Helps Eddie Edwards

Impact Results and Review: Raven Helps Eddie Edwards

We’re back for another week of Impact Wrestling.  We’re in the middle stretch of the build to Homecoming on January 6, 2019.  Homecoming is shaping up to be a great card.  What happened tonight to build to the show?

Jake Crist w/ oVe defeats Willie Mack to qualify for the Ultimate X Match at Homecoming

Willie Mack takes the loss here after interference from oVe.  Jake Crist will now be in the Ultimate X match at Homecoming.  Willie Mack definitely has more potential than Jake Crist as a singles performer.  So, I’m not 100% sure the direction they’re headed with Mack, but he has a lot to offer.

We see later in the night in a backstage segment, Mack talking to Rich Swann about attacking Callihan and oVe.  Swann says to wait and they will get the revenge he wants next week when Swann faces Dave Crist.  Mack agrees to wait.

I’m guessing we’re either going to see a Callihan/Mack feud or a Swann and Mack vs. the Crists storyline.  Either way, Mack needs a real story in Impact, and either would be a fine next step.

Dark Allie w/ Su Yung defeats Heather Monroe

This match was here to further the storyline surrounding Allie’s transition to her current character. This is not my cup of tea, but Allie has definitely souled-out for this character.  She has changed her mannerisms and wrestling style.

After the match, she locks in the mandible claw on Monroe and Hogan makes the save.  Hogan takes out Su Yung then pleads with Allie.  Allie then drops her with a nasty forearm.

Allie has come a long way since her first appearances on Impact.  She’s improved in the ring and definitely works at whatever she is given.  I’m assuming Rosemary makes her way back for some kind of storyline at Homecoming to save Allie from the dark side.

Desi Hit Squad defeat Damien Hyde and Manny Lemons

Desi Hit Squad Version 2.o picks up the victory in a squash match.  Give Impact Wrestling credit for trying to build teams in their tag division.  Personally, I’m not seeing the appeal of Desi Hit Squad.  I feel like they are missing the “it factor” that you need in professional wrestling.

The most noteworthy thing in this match was that Manny Lemons eats lemons to fire himself up.  Callis calls him an idiot and the match is over.
