1. WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Final – Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali
This one is a real shame as 205 Live has been on fire since the recent revamp, which has focused more on in-ring competition than increasingly convoluted storylines as seen more frequently on Raw and SmackDown Live on top of the brilliantly received WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. This match serves as the final of the tournament that has already produced outstanding matches such as Cedric Alexander vs. Roderick Strong and Mustafa Ali vs. Drew Gulak.
If these men were given 15 minutes on the main card they would easily be a contender for match of the night with both wrestlers capable of delivering high-flying offense and a hard-hitting style that would have the crowd hooked. The reason why I believe this won’t make the main show is because even though the cruiserweight division is in the midst of a resurgence, there simply aren’t enough casual fans aware of the talents of both these guys and this match is nowhere near the top of WWE’s priorities heading into the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’. I’m hoping I’m completely wrong about this and that WWE does learn from the huge error of leaving Neville vs. Austin Aries off the show last year but I’m sticking with my instincts on this one.
