On last night’s WWE SmackDown show in Mexico City, Sami Zayn became a two-time Undisputed WWE Champion when he defeated CM Punk to regain the title.

Sami’s title win has shaken up the landscape of SmackDown, with a lot of potential new directions for the already packed top of the card.

There are a number of names chasing the WWE Championship right now, with the next year of the title now looking a lot more interesting.

Here is our predicted next 5 Undisputed WWE Champions.

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens made his return to WWE television at SummerSlam after missing over 16 months of action due to a neck injury.

Owens has been chasing the WWE Championship since his return, with him earning the right to face CM Punk for the title in his first match back.

Sami ended up costing Owens that match, with the two of them continuing to go at each other in the weeks since.

It has been a decade since Owens’ first World Championship reign, and him defeating Sami to get his second would be a great moment.

Randy Orton

When Owens was out of action with an injury, it came during his program with Randy Orton, with the two of them set for a match at WrestleMania 41.

With Owens and Orton still having a lot of unsolved issues, the two of them will likely be destined for a big match down the line.

While Orton is busy with Cody Rhodes right now, he has continued to tease going after his 15th World Championship soon.

Orton will likely bring that title home soon, and it being in the big match against Owens would make sense.

Heel Cody Rhodes

Over the past year, WWE has returned to a familiar story with Cody Rhodes and his lack of a ‘killer instinct’ on the show.

Cody’s inability to go to that dark place has led to a lot of fatigue with his current character, with his match with Randy Orton at Sunday Night’s Main Event being heavily criticised due to the finish.

It seems like we are closer than ever to the Cody Rhodes heel turn that many have been waiting a long time for.

If Cody needs to go to that place to win back his title, a double turn against Randy Orton seems the most likely option.

Trick Williams

If Cody Rhodes is going to reign as a heel champion, WWE should give the victory over him to a rising babyface that is incredibly over with the audience.

Right now, the obvious choice for that spot would be Trick Williams, who recently regained his United States Championship from Baron Corbin.

Trick has been touted as one of the potential favourites to win this year’s Money In The Bank Ladder match, and with Money In The Bank taking place in October this year, he would have until after WrestleMania 42 to cash it in.

Trick cashing in on Cody would create a great, memorable moment.

Bron Breakker

After his victory over Oba Femi at Sunday Night’s Main Event, Bron Breakker is now once again considered the future of WWE after a very quiet 2026.

Breakker and Femi’s rivalry will be one that WWE can rely on for years to come, but with the World Heavyweight Championship locked up for the foreseeable future, a move to SmackDown would be Bron’s best bet.

Breakker and Oba having a big rematch next Crown Jewel, where both men are reigning as World Champion, would be a true changing of the guard for the company.
