Predicting The WrestleMania 38 Match Card Following The Royal Rumble

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Charlotte Flair (c) vs Ronda Rousey

Here is your night one main event. One thing WWE did get right with the Royal Rumble winners this year is that both will compete in the main events of WrestleMania, as the Rumble winner should do.

While Becky Lynch and the Raw Women’s Championship would seem the obvious choice for Rousey, she is reportedly set to be part of the SmackDown brand going forward, which would put her on a collision course with the Queen.

It seems like an odd choice on paper, but this was the match that WWE wanted for WrestleMania 35, before Becky had the nerve to get so incredibly over that they had to change course.

Raw Women’s Championship – Becky Lynch (c) vs Bianca Belair

There is a story here, and I was really worried that WWE was going to abandon it and leave Bianca out in the cold once they learned about Ronda Rousey’s return.

I was less harsh on the Becky/Bianca SummerSlam fiasco than most people, as there seemed to be an obvious story playing out. We nearly got off course a few times, but with Ronda reportedly after Charlotte, the road to the final destination seems pretty straight.

Bianca will avenge her 26 second defeat to The Man at SummerSlam, capture the Raw Women’s Championship, and score one point for the ‘let it play out’ crew.
