On April 24, WWE had its latest slate of talent cuts with 25 wrestlers known to have been released from the company as of this writing.

Looking at the current free agency market, there are also several stars still available that were once released from WWE within the past few years.

If WWE wanted to fill certain voids in its roster, the company could look towards a released talent making their return sometime down the line.

Here are eight released WWE stars who could potentially return to the company.

8. Kairi Sane

Asuka helped Kairi Sane defeat IYO SKY on the WWE Raw before WrestleMania 42

The most shocking name included in the latest round of WWE releases had to be Kairi Sane.

The three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion is someone who was in the midst of a major storyline on Monday Night Raw.

Over the past year, Asuka had been bossing around her Kabuki Warriors tag team partner with many fans hoping for Sane to stand up for herself against her senpai.

After fans had #WeWantKairi trending on social media and even chanted it at Asuka during the April 27 WWE Raw, some believe Sane could be on her way back to the company to complete her storyline with ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ in the near future, similar to R-Truth’s comeback last year.

7. Trill London

Trill London featured on season two of WWE LFG as a protege of Michelle McCool

There were numerous names who were released from WWE that had not yet been called up to the main roster.

Making his debut for the company on WWE LFG and Evolve, Trill London was someone who caught the fans’ eyes.

The former Miami Dolphin player showcased what made him a unique character, taking inspiration from Jeff Hardy and having undeniable athleticism.

Wanting to give him another chance to impress, WWE could re-sign Trill London to see if he can improve upon the potential he has shown since transitioning to the pro wrestling industry.

6. Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with IYO SKY, who was then still known as Io Shirai

In the past, WWE has been hesitant to release stars who were currently injured at the time of talent cuts.

After nearly a year on the shelf with a serious leg injury, Zoey Stark was reportedly cleared to compete before being released from WWE.

Stark spent five years with the company and looked to be someone who would be a reliable worker for the WWE women’s division for years to come.

Now that she is about to become a free agent, WWE could give Stark another chance once she is fully recovered to become a highlight of the women’s scene in the future.

5. Dakota Kai

Dakota Kai was released by WWE in April 2022 and again in May 2025

Another former WWE star who was always seen as a dependable in-ring competitor is Dakota Kai.

In May 2025, many fans were shocked to see Kai as part of the talent cuts after spending eight years with the promotion.

Since then, Dakota, now known as Charlie, has returned to the ring for EVE and HOG in some standout matches against Kris Statlander and Shotzi Blackheart.

After proving herself to be still ready for another major opportunity, it might be the right time for WWE to call her back and have Dakota Kai make her return to the company in the coming weeks or months.

4. Erick Rowan

Many fans were quite surprised to see WWE release the entire Wyatt Sicks faction.

Bringing the legacy of The Wyatt Family into the group, Erick Rowan was specifically brought back to WWE to join the new faction.

With his veteran leadership and intimidating presence, Rowan played a central role in what the stable was supposed to accomplish.

Despite this being the second time he’s been released, Rowan feels like someone who might always be open to making a return and imposing his will on opponents in a WWE ring sometime down the line.

3. Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross is a former WWE Women’s Champion, holding it when it was known as the Raw Women’s Championship

Nikki Cross has long been someone that WWE could always count on to perform any character given to her.

Joining The Wyatt Sicks in 2024, Cross played the ‘Sister Abigail’ role and barely wrestled on WWE TV during this two-year run with the faction.

The former WWE Raw Women’s Champion is a star who can still contribute inside the squared circle and as a character worker as well.

Spending 10 years with WWE, Cross feels like someone that the company might think about bringing back into the fold to play a different role sooner rather than later.

2. Bo Dallas

WWE star Bo Dallas, the real-life brother of Bray Wyatt

Bo Dallas was previously released by WWE but returned as Uncle Howdy when Bray Wyatt made his return in 2022

Among all the members of The Wyatt Sicks released from WWE, Bo Dallas feels like the one that WWE should have never let go.

In 2024, Dallas made his return to the company as Uncle Howdy to start The Wyatt Sicks stable.

Wanting to use this group to honor his brother Bray Wyatt, Dallas did a solid job as the leader of the faction, but they never truly got their feet under them on the WWE main roster.

Coming back to the promotion in a different role, Dallas feels like a star who can still contribute in a more meaningful way for WWE whenever they see fit to give him another opportunity.

1. Aleister Black & Zelina

Aleister Black’s last match in WWE was the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal which was won by Royce Keys

Re-signing with WWE in April 2025, Aleister Black looked to redeem himself from his first run with the company.

A few months into the second run with the promotion, Black formed a partnership with his real life wife Zelina Vega.

This led to Black being featured in a prominent rivalry with Damian Priest and picking up some key recent victories against top stars, such as Randy Orton and Sami Zayn.

Following their release from the company, it feels likely that Black and Zelina could make their way back for their third run in WWE sometime in the near future.
