Top 10 Wrestlers Of 2020 – WrestleTalk Awards

8. Keith Lee

Keith Lee started out the year by winning the North American Championship, and went on to have a fantastic showing in the brilliant 2020 men’s Royal Rumble match, sharing the ring with Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar.

Keith Lee would then go on to have several standout moments in NXT, and even defeated Adam Cole to win the NXT Championship on the Great American Bash TV special back in July.

After holding the belt for just over a month, Keith Lee debuted on the main roster in August, immediately mixing it up with the likes of Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton. The former NXT star managed to defeat the latter in his singles PPV debut just six days later.

The next few months weren’t amazing for Keith Lee, with the Raw star really not doing anything of major note on TV or pay-per-view since his big win over Randy Orton at Payback in August.

However, with reports suggesting that Lee is being prepped for a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania, and it seems like he has done enough to rank pretty highly amongst those polled to come in as the eighth-best wrestler of the year.

7. Bayley

Along with Sasha Banks, Bayley was a real integral player for WWE during the no fans era, appearing across all three shows, putting on great matches with the likes of Nikki Cross and Asuka, and stealing the show with some brilliant promos.

Bayley went into 2020 as the SmackDown Women’s Champion, even making history by defending her title in the first-ever Women’s Championship match in Saudi Arabia against Naomi. She held the title until October when she was dethroned by Sasha Banks.

Speaking of Banks, Bayley and Sasha teamed together for much of 2020, holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship for 85 days before dropping the belts to Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at Payback in August.

While she may not have picked up a win from August until December, Bayley’s stellar performances in the ring and on the mic for the first eight months of the year have clearly done enough to convince those polled that she has been one of the best wrestlers of the year.

6. Roman Reigns

Since returning to WWE in August, Roman Reigns has undoubtedly been the best thing in WWE and probably the best thing in wrestling with his Tribal Chief character, but the fact that he spent half of the year at home means he can’t rank higher on this list.

Roman Reigns continued his subpar feud with King Corbin for the first few months of the year, before setting up a feud with Goldberg for the Universal Championship. However, Reigns was pulled from WWE TV due to Coronavirus-related concerns.

When he returned to WWE at the end of August, Reigns turned heel and aligned himself with Paul Heyman, and has since become one of the best and most consistent characters that WWE has seen in several years.

Putting on show-stealing matches with Jey Uso, Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre on pay-per-view, as well as consistently having the best segments on SmackDown each week, it’s no surprise that despite only being on TV for around six months of the year, Roman Reigns has ranked as the sixth-best wrestler of 2020.
