Top 10 Wrestlers Of 2020 – WrestleTalk Awards

5. Sasha Banks

From the Universal Champion to the SmackDown Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks places at number five on this list and is actually the highest-ranked female wrestler of the year (sorry for the spoilers).

Sasha Banks started the year slow, but really turned a corner after WrestleMania, winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team, Raw Women’s and SmackDown Women’s Championships during that period.

Banks’ accomplishments have not stopped in the ring and even in WWE, with “The Boss” started to get attention from outside of the wrestling world with her role in the new Mandalorian series.

Sasha Banks and Bayley have consistently been involved in the highest-drawing segments on SmackDown, so it’s no surprise to see Sasha Banks ranked as the fifth-best wrestler in the world this year.

4. Hangman Adam Page

Hangman Page didn’t have the best 201e, and he’d probably the first to admit that he was pushed beyond his means to the main event of AEW All Out in September of last year.

While last year might not have been too great, there’s no denying that 2020 has been the best year of the AEW star’s career, with a string of great matches and some even better character work.

Page was not only part of arguably the best match of 2020 with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, but his split from The Elite has been widely regarded as one of the best professional wrestling storylines in years.

While 2020 may have been kind of Hangman Page, with those polled ranking him as the fourth-best wrestler of the year, something tells me that he’s going to have an even better 2021, perhaps finally defeating Kenny Omega at some stage.

3. Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley spent most of 2020 as AEW World Champion, defeating Chris Jericho to win the title at AEW Revolution, the promotion’s first pay-per-view event of the year.

He went on to hold the title for just over nine months, dropping it to Kenny Omega on the special Winter is Coming episode of AEW Dynamite at the start of the month.

Moxley had some great matches while champion, including impressive bouts with Darby Allin, Brian Cage and even Jake Hager on TV, as well as stellar matches with Brodie Lee, Eddie Kingston and MJF on pay-per-view.

Jon Moxley was a massive asset to AEW during the trickiest of times with the pandemic and has subsequently earnt a spot as the third-best wrestler of the year.
