8. KUSHIDA vs. Hiromu Takahashi vs. Will Ospreay vs. Marty Scurll – Wrestle Kingdom 12
If you like lots of high spots at a whirlwind pace, this match is for you. The first four-way singles match in Wrestle Kingdom history couldn’t have had four better junior heavyweights to fill a highlight reel than these four.
This match was a combination of many storylines that took place over the prior year. KUSHIDA and Hiromu had a memorable trilogy of matches, Ospreay and KUSHIDA traded wins, and Marty Scurll managed to once again beat Ospreay to win his first IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
With these four wrestlers intertwined, their grudges had to be settled in one big match. Each man got his chance to shine in this 20-minute match. Ospreay performed a moonsault from a part of the lighting rig, Hiromu ran wild with sunset-flip powerbombs, Scurll continued to snap fingers, and KUSHIDA hit Back to the Future despite being blinded by powder.
This match is a ton of fun and definitely worth watching if you love the junior heavyweight style. In the end, it was Will Ospreay who finally managed to get his win back over Marty Scurll, winning back the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship in the process.
