Vegas Predicts: WWE Extreme Rules, Part 2

Vegas Predicts: WWE Extreme Rules, Part 2

Today, I look at the betting trends leading up to WWE Extreme Rules.

Two things before we get into the odds for Extreme Rules: (1) Betting odds for WWE represent possible spoilers. While it is not a certainty, they are right more often than not. So if you don’t want to be spoiled, stop reading now! (2) A quick reminder of how American betting odds work in case you are used to another format:

A “favorite” is given a negative number. This is the amount of money that needs to be placed on that competitor to win $100. For example, if someone is a -300 favorite, you need to bet $300 to potentially win $100. If you win the bet, you get $400 back (your original $300 and your $100 profit). If you lose the bet, you lose your $300. -300 = 1/3 in fractional odds.

An “underdog” is given a positive number. This is the amount of money you will WIN so long as you bet $100. For example, if someone is a +450 underdog, you need to bet $100 to potentially win $450. If you win the bet, you get $550 back (your original $100 and your $450 profit). If you lose the bet, you lose your $100. +450 = 9/2 in fractional odds.

WWE Championship Match: AJ Styles (-450) vs. Rusev (+300)

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy (-140) vs. The B Team (+120)

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: Bludgeon Brothers (+110) vs. Team Hell No (-150)

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Asuka (-175) vs. Carmella (+120)

WWE Intercontinental Championship Iron-Man Match: Dolph Ziggler (-150) vs. Seth Rollins (+110)

WWE United States Championship: Jeff Hardy (+110) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (-150)

Roman Reigns (-140) vs. Bobby Lashley (+120)

Baron Corbin (-110) vs. Finn Balor (-120)

Kevin’s Thoughts: With the exception of AJ Styles being a heavy favorite over Rusev, Extreme Rules 2018 is shaping up to have some of the closest lines since WrestleMania 34. In terms of action since my last update, Asuka has lost a few points to Carmella but still remains the betting favorite. Similarly, Roman Reigns has lost some points to Bobby Lashley. One has to imagine this is due to the rumors that Lashley, not Roman, would be the man to dethrone Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. Alexa Bliss has also lost some ground, falling from -300 to -225 over the last few days. She also still remains a heavy favorite over Nia Jax. Shinsuke Nakamura and Jeff Hardy betting has opened and Shinsuke has opened as the favorite. Shinsuke had a rough few months trying to capture the WWE Championship and now looks to be heading down for the United States title. Baron Corbin and Finn Balor have opened as a coin flip. Nothing is standing out to me at the moment; let’s see if the lines get some movement as we get closer to July 15th.
