Following a recent update on plans for the 2027 Royal Rumble premium live event, there have been some rumors swirling about the winner of the men’s over-the-top-rope match.

TKO previously announced that next year’s Royal Rumble event will take place at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona in February, marking the third time that this premium live event has emanated from this city.

More recently, Fightful Select reported that sources believe that Royal Rumble will take place on the weekend of February 6.

This, along with Nick Khan recently indicating that the company has already been “across creative” for WrestleMania 43, have fuelled speculation about potential plans for the upcoming 30-man match.

With the winner earning a championship match at WrestleMania, there are a number of stars who look like they have a realistic shot at winning the 2027 Royal Rumble.

Here are three stars who could potentially win the men’s Royal Rumble match.

Oba Femi

Oba Femi appears to be the favorite to win the Royal Rumble right now, given what happened all the way back in April following WrestleMania 42.

During the post-show, moments after Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Title win, Oba Femi issued a challenge to the OTC.

Almost six months later, the two stars still haven’t met in singles action, with the King of the Ring winner even giving up his guaranteed title shot to instead face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.

With Reigns vs Femi rumored to be closing WrestleMania 43, a Royal Rumble victory would help to make The Ruler look like a monster on the road to the Show of Shows.

CM Punk

After dropping the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn on the September 11 SmackDown episode, CM Punk stated that he doesn’t “have” to chase the title again, he “gets” to.

With Punk teasing that he’s in the tail end of his in-ring career, we could see Punk win the one match he has never been able to, the Royal Rumble.

CM Punk has been close to having his arm raised in several Rumbles since his return to the company, being a runner-up in the 2024 match and making it to the final four in 2025.

After coming up short at WrestleMania 41 and 42, we could see Punk finally win in the main event of WrestleMania 43, and he could win the Royal Rumble match to get there.

Bron Breakker

To the surprise of many, Bron Breakker was the first star to be eliminated from the 2026 Royal Rumble match, with a masked man later revealed to be Seth Rollins attacking Breakker in his entrance, allowing Oba Femi to quickly eliminate him.

With Dave Meltzer previously reporting that Breakker at one point was the planned winner for the 2026 Rumble, this was confirmed on WWE Unreal, with Triple H stating:

“The risk with Bron Breakker is everything from, can he actually do it? Can he mentally handle it? Will fans accept it? You have to really be sure.”

With an extra year of experience under his belt, it could now be Bron Breakker’s time, and WWE may finally be ready to pull the trigger.
