9 Surprises WWE Could Book For WrestleMania 40

9 Surprises WWE Could Book For WrestleMania 40 WWE

WWE WrestleMania 40 is just days away, with anticipation for the event reaching feverish levels.

The card of 13 bouts across two nights is stacked with potential, not only for great in-ring action but also drama of astronomical proportions.

As with any WWE event there is always room for big shocks and expectations being subverted, something that is doubly true for the Grandest Stage of Them All.

After the conclusion of last year’s WrestleMania main event, it feels like WWE fans’ guards will be up a bit more for potential swerves, so WWE may have no choice but out do themselves this year.

Honestly, it says a lot for the potential of the card that even narrowing it down to nine entries was a challenge, but here goes. Please enjoy the nine surprises WWE could book for WrestleMania 40 Night One & Two.

9. Carlito Turns On The LWO

WWE star Carlito

You’ve got to feel a bit sorry for Mr. Caribbean Cool. His first WrestleMania since 2010, and he gets royally snubbed by the man who he has jumped to the aid of since returning to the company last year.

Rey Mysterio choosing new LWO recruit Dragon Lee to be his tag team partner for their match against Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar, all while Carlito was standing RIGHT THERE was a gut punch.

This was especially sore, as fans inside the Mohegan Sun Arena during the segment were clearly hoping it would be Carlito that Rey would pick. Carlito’s face couldn’t hide the disappointment, something Escobar would poke fun at online afterwards.

The one way Carlito can stick it to Rey for the snub is obviously a swap of allegiance – costing the master of the 619 his match at WrestleMania 40.

Sure, this would be the third time an ally has turned on Rey, so it’s kinda played out, but still something must be done.
