Taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, WrestleMania 43 week will also likely feature the WWE Hall of Fame, with inductees yet to be announced.
A date is yet to be confirmed for WrestleMania 43, but plans for the WWE Hall of Fame in Riyadh were confirmed by Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in the Saudi Arabian government.
The 2026 ceremony was headlined by Stephanie McMahon and AJ Styles as individual inductees, with next year’s likely to warrant a huge name due to its location:
Why does WWE have to “go big” for Saudi Arabia?
It would be unusual for WWE not to pull out all the stops for the first WrestleMania to be held in Saudi Arabia, particularly with the nature of the partnership between the company and the Kingdom.
Tensions in the region may have WWE monitoring the situation, but plans are no doubt afoot for the shape of WrestleMania week outside of the PLE, with the Hall of Fame being a big part of proceedings.
Many names, limited opportunities
Since last year’s ceremony, John Cena and Brock Lesnar are among the prominent names to have retired, while The Rock continues as a star (and current TKO board member). None of those names has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
It’s likely that one of those three will headline this year’s ceremony, although it’s also not beyond reason that Cena and Lesnar will both be inducted.
As for The Rock, he is yet to retire, although Rey Mysterio was inducted in the Class of 2023 and continues to perform as a full-time star.
There’s also the possibility that WWE will follow last year’s method when it comes to individual inductees, recognizing a legendary in-ring star in AJ Styles alongside Stephanie McMahon, who may be a former Women’s Champion but is perhaps better remembered for her other roles.
More than just the headliners
The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is more than just the headline names, with group, celebrity, legacy and “Immortal Moments” also making up the inductions.
Last year saw Demolition as the group inductee, with Dennis Rodman joining the celebrity wing, Sid & Bad News Brown as legacy inductees and Hulk Hogan vs. André the Giant from WrestleMania III as the Immortal Moment.
Of those categories, the easiest to choose is likely to be the “Immortal Moment”, but the others will no doubt have to be stars that the fans at home and watching the ceremony live are invested in seeing.
There are still plenty of names and moments that are Hall of Fame worthy, but whether next year’s ceremony is the ideal spot remains to be seen.
Whoever gets inducted, someone gets left out
Every year, there will be discussion as to who should have been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, with some names thrown out there that seem like ideal fits. By contrast, some inductees may leave some fans scratching their heads.
When the Road to WrestleMania kicks off, fans will no doubt get the first inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2027, and the discussions will no doubt start all over again.
