WWE
In 2018, the Mixed Match Challenge was one of WWE’s most popular tournaments, with it bringing together a lot of pairings that made for entertaining television.
In 2026, there are a number of potential pairings, both on screen and off screen, that would make a 2026 version of the tournament even better.
Here are some potential mixed tag teams for a 2026 version of the Mixed Match Challenge.
Liv Morgan & Dominik Mysterio

The most obvious choice for a Mixed Match Challenge, Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio have been together on-screen for over two years after Dominik betrayed Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam 2024.
If WWE were to announce the return of the tournament, Liv and Dom would probably be considered the favourites to win the whole thing.
Austin Theory & Maxxine Dupri

Another on-screen pairing that just came together, Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri are both members of The Vision on WWE Raw.
While Theory and Maxxine are continuing to grow as a pair, a Mixed Match Challenge could help the two become more established in the company.
Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae

Johnny Gargano’s DIY tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa departed WWE for AEW in January 2026
After months of laying around backstage, Johnny Wrestling is finally back to his best on SmackDown, mixing it up with the top stars of the brand including CM Punk and Cody Rhodes.
While Johnny likely won’t end up capturing the WWE Title, he and Candice LeRae would make for a great addition to the Mixed Match Challenge, and potential AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions.
Trick Williams & Lash Legend

Both on the rise on WWE SmackDown, Trick Williams and Lash Legend could very much be the next great power couple in WWE.
Trick and Lash are yet to officially link up on screen, though their real-life relationship has been referenced on the show multiple times.
Shiloh Hill & Tatum Paxley

In the months ahead of her main roster call up, Tatum Paxley formed a very entertaining friendship with Shiloh Hill on NXT television.
In a 2026 Mixed Match Challenge, NXT and AAA would likely also be involved, and it would make for a great place to reunite Shiloh and Tatum after Tatum left him alone to head to the main roster.
Kelani Jordan & Carmelo Hayes

Kelani Jordan has finally reached the mountain top of the NXT brand, with her now reigning as NXT Women’s Champion and recently making her debut on Monday Night Raw.
Much like Trick and Lash, Carmelo Hayes and Kelani Jordan are yet to link up on screen, with a Mixed Match Challenge being the perfect chance to do so.
Laredo Kid & La Hiedra

With AAA having it’s own Mixed Tag Team Championship, WWE now has gold that it could put on the line for a 2026 Mixed Match Challenge.
As such, AAA involvement would be a must, as would featuring the reigning champions, those being Laredo Kid and La Hiedra.
Daga & Karmen Petrovic

Since the reformation of Los Perros Del Mal, Karmen Petrovic has spent most of her time in AAA, though she is yet to have officially wrestled for the brand.
Her and any of Los Perros teaming up would be a great second rep for AAA, with Daga the likely option for that role.
